Faculty and students at UP Diliman have started an
interdisciplinary Mathematical Life Sciences Initiative (MLSI)
to network various groups involved or interested in modeling
biological systems. MLSI initially organized a Mathematical and
Computational Biology Lecture Series (January-March 2003):
MLSI's vision is to establish a UP research and education network
(community of practice) in the field of Systems Biology and other
applications in Life Sciences. MLSI has established a number of
joint projects with local and foreign partners - progress reports as
well as contact persons can be found under the following link:
A second
series of lectures was conducted in January-February 2004:
Here is a collection of material and links on topics in this area:
The Instrumentation Physics Lab at NIP has a Computational
Sciences group, also active in modeling biological systems.
